Tropical Storm Bonnie Update

The staff at the recovery center implemented our full Hurricane Plan today in preparation for Bonnie's possible visit. The plan includes moving materials into secured space and backing up computer drives and as mundane as emptying the fridge so that it can be unplugged. It is still unknown exactly what Bonnie will do but the Recovery Center is as ready as it can be thanks to the efforts of all the staff. Let's hope it was just a drill and that Bonnie decides to fizzle.

Hurricane Ida

We had hoped that we would get through this season with no threat but it was not to be. We are closely monitoring Hurricane Ida as she moves rapidly through the Gulf. At this stage Tulane University is operating under normal conditions. The Recovery Center will be operating normally on Monday unless the situation changes.

Hurricane Season 2009

We are all sincerely hoping that Hurricane Season 2009 will be a quiet one for the Greater New Orleans area. But we will be actively monitoring the weather until the season is over. http://www.nhc.noaa.gov/

We are getting our plans in place but hopefully we won't need to use them.
